What is Sleep Apnea?

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)  is a disorder in which a person stops breathing during sleep. As a result, the person can’t get the regenerative sleep required to function optimally the next day. Symptoms of OSA include snoring, waking up choking, out of breath, restless sleep, morning headaches, fatigue, and difficulty staying asleep. It can lead to increased risk for high blood pressure, depression, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.

Some Sleep Apnea
Symptoms May Include:

Loud and Persistent Snoring

Often accompanied by gasping or choking sounds during sleep.

Excessive Daytime Sleepiness

Feeling extremely tired during the day, even after a full night’s sleep.

Difficulty Concentrating

Poor memory, difficulty focusing, and reduced cognitive function.

Difficulty Staying Asleep

Struggling to maintain continuous sleep throughout the night.

Obesity or Weight Gain

Craving low-quality foods and difficulty regulating hormones.

*It’s important to note that not everyone with sleep apnea will experience all of these symptoms, and some individuals may not be aware of their symptoms because they occur during sleep. Please contact us so we can evaluate your case.
